Zoll (?) Family

These pictures were passed to me when my grandmother died.  The envelope says Mrs. Romang.  Dave & Clara Vandeveer gold wedding picture Aug 1940 or 41.  [Clara Zoll (b. 20 Apr 1869 d. 19 May 1946) married on 26 Jul 1891 to David Vandeveer (b. 20 Jul 1866 d. 29 Aug 1948).    I started tracking the Romang family and can't find a connection to the Vandeveer's.  However, I have found a Hannah Cushen Romang.  Cushen is the surname of Anastasia Cushen married to John Carl Zoll who is the mother of Clara Zoll.  John Zoll is the brother of my ancestor William Zoll.   William Zoll's wife was Margaret Slattery, daughter of John Slattery and Mary Cushen.  I believe that the Zoll families stayed in close contact for many years.  My grandmother talked of the Worth girls and many others that are descendants of John Carl Zoll.   I have not been able to prove the relationship of Anastasia Cushen with Hannah Cushen.

Gates Photography - Clarence Leonard Gates, a photographer, moved to Waverly in 1876.  He died on Sept 9, 1922 having the oldest established business in the city at the time of his death.  (from the History of Waverly, Illinois 1836-1986 by Waverly Genealogical & Historical Society)

Most of the people in these photos are unknown.  I have listed if I know or can guess who is in the photo.  If you know who these people are, please let me know.

Handwritten on the back:

Allie Zoll, Barbara Zoll, Leona Zoll about 3 years old

(would make this about 1900)

I would guess these men to be Zoll men.  According to Genealogy in St. Louis website the Scholter photography studio was on 1314 Olive St. in 1890, 1892, 1894.    I am guessing that William Zoll and John Carl Zoll are among these men.

Two of these men are in the above picture.  This one was taken in Springfield, Illinois at Halliday.
