This was one of the first families I started researching.  My grandmother had more information on these ancestors than any other.  One of the first people to offer me assistance was Shirley Aleguas.  She currently is running the Morgan Area Genealogical Association website.  It is one of the best websites that I have seen and has an amazing amount of information.  If you have ancestors in the Morgan County Area, you've got to check it out.

I also met a new cousin,  Peg Haugner.  She sent me copies of very neat things,  like Conrad Zoll's passport dated 1840.

My aunt, Mary Eugenia Krueger Gilbert, who gave me the pictures from their trip to Germany and village that Conrad Zoll came from.  One of the pictures is the original Zoll house.

I.  Conrad Adams ZOLL was born on 24 Jan 1811.  He married Margaretha

Barbara BELLMON before 1838.  Conrad immigrated, in 1840. Destination: New

Orleans.  Conrad was listed as the head of a family on the 1850 Census at

St. Louis, St. Louis Co., MO.  Obtained Cemetery plat from the German

Evangelical Protestant Congregation of the Church. --1854.  He died on 20

Sep 1854 at St. Louis, MO, at age 43.

   A.  Anna Margaretha ZOLL was born on 11 Nov 1838 at Germany.  Anna was a

   relative of immigrant Conrad Adams ZOLL in 1840 at New Orleans.  He was

   listed as a household member living with Conrad Adams ZOLL in the 1860

   Census at St. Louis, St. Louis Co., MO.  She died on 7 Jan 1858 at age

   19.  She was buried on 14 Jan 1859 at Holy Ghost, St. Louis, MO.

   B.  John Carl ZOLL was born on 28 Mar 1841 at Springfield, IL.  He was

   listed as a household member living with Conrad Adams ZOLL in the 1860

   Census at St. Louis, St. Louis Co., MO.  He married Anastasia CUSHEN,

   daughter of John CUSHEN and KEATING, on 24 Jan 1864.  He was listed as

   the head of a family on the 1870 Census at Waverly, Morgan Co., IL.  He

   was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census at Waverly, Morgan

   Co., IL.  John was listed as the head of a family on the 1900 Census at

   Waverly, Morgan Co., IL.  He died on 25 Apr 1905 at age 64.  He was

   buried on 27 Apr 1905 at St. Sebastian Catholic Cemetery, Waverly,

   Morgan Co., IL.

      1.  Mary Ann ZOLL was born on 24 Nov 1864.  She was listed as a

      household member living with John Carl ZOLL on the 1870 Census at

      Waverly, Morgan Co., IL.  She died on 14 Apr 1873 at age 8.  She was

      buried after 14 Apr 1873 at St. Sebastian Catholic Cemetery Waverly,

      Morgan Co., IL.

      2.  Margaret B. ZOLL was born on 20 Nov 1866.  She was listed as a

         a)  Carl WORTH was born on 11 Oct 1894 at IL.  He was listed as a

         son in Charles J. WORTH's household on the 1920 Census at North

         Otter Township, Maucopin, IL.

         b)  Helen Anastia WORTH.  Her married name was MURPHY.  She

         married (--?--) MURPHY.  She was born on 21 Jun 1896 at IL.  She

         was listed as a daughter in Charles J. WORTH's household on the

         1920 Census at North Otter Township, Maucopin, IL.  She died on 2

         Apr 1936 at age 39.

         c)  William Zoll WORTH was born on 21 Oct 1898.  He died on 29 Apr

         1913 at age 14.  He was buried after 29 Apr 1913 at Waverly East

         Cemetery, Waverly, Morgan Co., IL.

         d)  James Raleigh WORTH was born on 22 Jan 1901 at Illinois.  He

         was listed as a son in Charles J. WORTH's household on the 1920

         Census at North Otter Township, Maucopin, IL.  He died on 24 Sep

         1975 at age 74.

         e)  Laura Lolita WORTH was born on 12 Aug 1904 at IL.  She was

         listed as a daughter in Charles J. WORTH's household on the 1920

         Census at North Otter Township, Maucopin, IL.  She died in 1984.

         f)  Francis J. WORTH was born on 27 Feb 1907.  He was listed as a

         son in Charles J. WORTH's household on the 1920 Census at North

         Otter Township, Maucopin, IL.  He died on 13 Nov 1975 at age 68.

         He was buried after 13 Nov 1975 at Waverly East Cemetery Waverly,

         Morgan Co., IL.

         g)  Margaret Mildred WORTH was born on 15 Jul 1909 at IL.  She was

         listed as a daughter in Charles J. WORTH's household on the 1920

         Census at North Otter Township, Maucopin, IL.  She died in 1983.

      3.  Clara ZOLL was born on 20 Apr 1869 at Illinois.  She was listed as

      a household member living with John Carl ZOLL on the 1870 Census at

      Waverly, Morgan Co., IL.  She was listed as a daughter in John Carl

      ZOLL's household on the 1880 Census at Waverly, Morgan Co., IL.  She

      married David Logan VANDEVEER on 26 Jul 1891 at Morgan Co., IL.  She

      died on 19 May 1946 at age 77.  She was buried after 19 May 1946 at

      Waverly East Cemetery Waverly, Morgan Co., IL.

         a)  Irene VANDEVEER married Benjamin EDWARDS.  She died.  She was

         born in Sep 1892.

         b)  Mabel R. VANDEVEER was born on 9 Apr 1893.  She married Roy

         MITCHELL on 27 Dec 1916.  She died on 14 Jan 1980 at age 86.

         c)  Adelbert VANDEVEER was born on 25 Jul 1901.  He died on 5 Sep

         1964 at age 63.  He was buried after 5 Sep 1964 at Waverly East

         Cemetery Waverly, Morgan Co., IL.

      4.  Laura J. ZOLL was born on 1 Sep 1871 at Illinois.  She was listed

      as a daughter in John Carl ZOLL's household on the 1880 Census at

      Waverly, Morgan Co., IL.  She married Joseph MCDEVITT, son of Samuel

      Hugh MCDEVITT and Grace RAWLINGS, on 13 Oct 1892 at Morgan Co., IL.

      She died on 2 May 1904 at age 32.  She was buried after 2 May 1904 at

      Waverly East Cemetery Waverly, Morgan Co., IL.

         a)  Aletta MCDEVITT was born in 1893.  She died in 1971.

         b)  Louise MCDEVITT died.  She was born in 1895.

         c)  Russell MCDEVITT married Pauline WILLOUGHBY.  He was born on

         28 Jul 1897.  He died on 24 Aug 1976 at age 79.  He was buried

         after 24 Aug 1976 at Waverly East Cemetery Waverly, Morgan Co.,

         IL.

      5.  John W. ZOLL was born in 1874.  He was listed as a son in John

      Carl ZOLL's household on the 1880 Census at Waverly, Morgan Co., IL.

      He was listed as a son in John Carl ZOLL's household on the 1900

      Census at Waverly, Morgan Co., IL.  [N]was listed as a son in

      Anastasia CUSHEN's household on the 1910 Census at Waverly, Morgan

      Co., IL.  He died on 16 Jan 1952.  He was buried after 16 Jan 1952 at

      St. Sebastian Catholic Cemetery Waverly, Morgan Co., IL.

      6.  George F. ZOLL was born on 24 Oct 1877.  He was listed as a son

      in John Carl ZOLL's household on the 1880 Census at Waverly, Morgan

      Co., IL.  He was listed as a son in John Carl ZOLL's household on the

      1900 Census at Waverly, Morgan Co., IL.  He married Rosella FLANAGAN,

      daughter of Patrick H. FLANAGAN and Rose Ellen JENNINGS, circa 1904.

      He died on 28 Nov 1951 at age 74.  He was buried after 28 Nov 1951 at

      St. Sebastian Catholic Cemetery Waverly, Morgan Co., IL.

      7.  Francis A. ZOLL.  His common name was Frank.  He was born on 24

      Mar 1879.  He was listed as a son in John Carl ZOLL's household on

      the 1880 Census at Waverly, Morgan Co., IL.  He was listed as a son

      in John Carl ZOLL's household on the 1900 Census at Waverly, Morgan

      Co., IL.  Frank was listed as a son in Anastasia CUSHEN's household on

      the 1910 Census at Waverly, Morgan Co., IL.  He witnessed the death

      of Anastasia CUSHEN on 20 Feb 1922 at Waverly, Morgan Co., IL.  He

      died on 28 Feb 1923 at Waverly, Morgan Co., IL, at age 43.  He was

      buried after 28 Feb 1923 at St. Sebastian Catholic Cemetery Waverly,

      Morgan Co., IL.

   C.  Johanna Christain ZOLL was born on 22 Jun 1843 at Springfield, IL.

   She died on 20 Sep 1845 at St. Louis, MO, at age 2.

   D.  Johann Frederick ZOLL was born on 10 Nov 1843 at Springfield, IL.

   He was listed as a household member living with Conrad Adams ZOLL in the

   1860 Census at St. Louis, St. Louis Co., MO.  He died on 8 Aug 1869 at

      in William ZOLL's household on the 1900 Census at Waverly, Morgan

      Co., IL.  She married Samuel Tupper SMETTERS, son of Micahel SMETTERS

      and Nancy Ann MCCORMICK, on 7 Mar 1917.  She was listed as a wife in

      Samuel Tupper SMETTERS's household on the 1930 Census on 10 Apr 1930

      at 61st Street, Chicago, Cook Co., IL.  She died on 1 Jan 1957 at

      Chicago, Cook Co., IL, at age 75.  She was buried after 1 Jan 1957 at

      Waverly East Cemetery Waverly, Morgan Co., IL.

      2.  Mary Alice ZOLL was born on 10 Feb 1883 at Waverly, Morgan Co.,

      IL.  He was listed as a daughter in William ZOLL's household on the

      MORRIS, son of Edom Dickerson MORRIS and Mary Evaline FISHER, in

         a)  Charles Franklin MORRIS Jr was born on 14 May 1908.  He was

         listed as a nephew in Samuel Tupper SMETTERS's household in the

         1930 Census on 10 Apr 1930 at 61st Street, Chicago, Cook Co., IL.

         Charles served in the military at Camp McCoy, WI, circa 1943.  He

         married Janet on 18 Apr 1949.  He died circa Jan 1994.

      3.  Leona Cushen ZOLL. Leona Zoll Harrison after her divorce was a

      housekeeper.  She worked for wealthy families and sometimes traveled

      with them.  Since she moved around a bit, she collected

      Handkerchiefs.   Her daughter, Mary Eugenia Harrison Krueger, had the

      handkerchiefs made into a quilt.  John and Arlene Krueger currently

      have ownership of the quilt.  She was born on 14 Sep 1887 at Waverly,

      Morgan Co., IL.  She was listed as a daughter in William ZOLL's

      household on the 1900 Census at Waverly, Morgan Co., IL.  She married

      George Chester HARRISON, son of John HARRISON and Hannah Elizabeth

      FOX, on 26 Jun 1907 at Waverly, Morgan Co., IL.  Leona was listed as

      George Chester HARRISON's wife on the 1910 Census at St. Louis, MO.

      He was listed as George Chester HARRISON's wife on the 1920 Census at

      Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., OH.  She and George Chester HARRISON were

      divorced after 1924 at Ohio.  She was listed as the Head of Family on

      the 1930 Census. Leona is listed as married in this census on 17 Apr

      1930 at Kenwood Ave, Chicago, Cook Co., IL.  She died on 18 Aug 1958

      at Hearthside Nursing Home, Chicago, Cook Co., IL, at age 70.  She

      was buried on 22 Aug 1958 at Waverly East Cemetery, Waverly, Morgan

         a)  Margaret Elizabeth HARRISON was born on 18 Jan 1908.  She was

         1910 Census at St. Louis, MO.  As of between 1920 and 1941, her

         married name was ARTMAN.  She married Oran ARTMAN between 1920 and

         1941.  She was listed as a daughter in George Chester HARRISON's

         was listed as a daughter in Leona Cushen ZOLL's household in the

         1930 Census Leona is listed as married in this census on 17 Apr

         1930 at Kenwood Ave, Chicago, Cook Co., IL.  She died on 24 Nov

         1958 at age 50.

         b)  Mary Eugenia HARRISON was born on 4 Nov 1915 at St. Louis, MO.

         She was listed as a daughter in George Chester HARRISON's household

         on the 1920 Census at Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., OH.  She was listed

         as a daughter in Leona Cushen ZOLL's household in the 1930 Census

         Leona is listed as married in this census on 17 Apr 1930 at

         KRUEGER, son of John Carl KRUEGER and Stella May REED, on 1 Aug

      son in William ZOLL's household on the 1910 Census at Waverly, Morgan

      Co., IL.  He served in the military during war time circa 1918.  He

      married Mary H. WILLIAMS, daughter of (--?--) WILLIAMS and Mina (--?-

      -), on 14 Dec 1918 at Deming, NM.  He was listed as the Head of

      Family on the 1930 Census on 2 Apr 1930 at Berkeley City, Alameda

      Co., CA.  He resided at Berkeley, CA, on 4 Dec 1936, at 831 The

      Alameda.  He died on 15 Feb 1977 at age 87.

         a)  Rosemary Leda ZOLL was born on 14 Feb 1921.  She was listed as

         a daughter in Frederick Slattery ZOLL's household in the 1930

         Census on 2 Apr 1930 at Berkeley City, Alameda Co., CA.  She

         married Wallace George NEWHOUSE on 30 Jan 1952 at Portland,

         Multnomah Co., OR.  She died on 28 Feb 1991 at Salem, OR, at age

         70.

         b)  Margaret Ann ZOLL is still living.
