This league is based on
the official NASCAR® Nextel Cup points system. Drivers in
each team's lineup will earn the same number of points that
are awarded under the Nextel Cup® formula.
League Commissioner: Susan Krueger
Entry Fee: No fee.. This is a free game. No prizes.
How to play:
Each week each team picks
5 drivers acquired online using the online form and
carry a max salary cap limit of $160,000.00. The drivers
salaries will remain the same for the first three races.
After that the salaries will change each week based on
driver performance. If you fail to change your lineup that
week, the driver will the lowest salary will be dropped to
keep you under the salary cap. You should receive a
confirmation email to confirm your lineup. If you don't get
one, that means it hasn't been submitted. If you have
problems using the online form, I will accept lineups by
email as long as they are submitted before the deadline.
Points are awarded based
on NASCAR points. However, if NASCAR penalizes the driver,
then points will be deducted from the team as well. The team
with the most points will be declared the weekly winner. The
season is split into two half's. A first half and second
half winner will be declared as well as a season winner.
Teams:
Teams will be based on 5 drivers acquired online
using our form and carry a max salary cap limit of
$160,000.00. Popular cars can and probably will be drafted
and run each week by multiple teams. Players will be allowed
to own and run one team.
League Data/Driver Changes:
Preliminary driver salaries will be posted by 8:00 pm every
Wednesday. The salaries could change until qualifying
results are posted. They may change due to car/driver
changes. This league is run on the driver. If I driver does
not make the race or is replaced before race time, it is
your responsibility to update your lineup before the race.
Always check the results header at the top of the League's
main page as occasionally this will be delayed by NASCAR and
penalties! Timely drivers changes are very important, if one
or more of your drivers fail to qualify and you do not make
driver changes, you're just SOL... Additionally, as the
season progresses drivers salaries will change. If your team
exceeds the salary cap due to these salary changes and you
fail to make roster changes before race time, your lowest
salaried driver will be removed before processing the weekly
race results. This will result in your team being scored
with only 4 drivers due to salary cap violations. All Team
lineup changes must be received before race time. A
confirmation email is sent to your email address. If you do
not receive it, email me with you picks. It is your
responsibility to check and make sure your lineups are
correct. Please check your lineups just before the start of
each race and E-mail
racing@susankrueger.com if incorrect. Once a race starts
there will be NO changes!
Other Salary notes: I am
using a third party software to manage this league (GFR
Cup). They provide to me the driver salaries each week. The
salaries are based on the driver/car performance and may be
updated during the week if a driver/car announcement is made
during the week. Example: Mike Wallace was listed as the
driver of the 35 car for $1000. Later in the week, it was
announced that he would replace Jimmy Spencer in the 4 car.
Jimmy Spencer's salary in the 4 car was $20,000. When Mike
Wallace replaced Jimmy, his salary became $20,000. So, how
can Bill Elliott be only $1000? Well, neither Bill Elliott
nor the 98 car has raced consistently this year. The
salaries are based on car and driver performance over the
this years races.
Points System:
Points are awarded in declining order from the winner on
down. 5 Bonus points are awarded to the winner. Positions 2
thru 5 have a 5-Point difference, 6 thru 10 have a 4-Point
difference and positions 11 thru 43 have a 3-Point
difference. These are based on NASCAR official points.
Please see the scoring page for each place scoring
Bonus Points:
Bonus points are awarded to the driver that leads the most
laps (5 points - 1 driver) and for any driver who leads at
least one lap in any race. (5 points - any driver) The first
place finisher of each race can gain a possible point total
of 190 points. This is the highest possible total for each
event.
Special Note:
In case one of your drivers loses points due to a penalty
imposed by NASCAR, you will also lose those points. Hey!
They lose, you lose!!!
